BloomFest: Gardening for a Stronger Community

BloomFest is a festival-like event where individuals can learn more about the Lyon County Extension Master Gardener program, get gardening information, and participate in hands-on activities.

Date: June 13, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon)
Location: Lyon County Extension Office, 2632 W US Highway 50, Emporia, KS 66801
In the grassy area west of the Extension Office. Look for canopies and Master Gardener Flags.
This event is free and open to the public.

Welcome and Refreshments Learn more about the Lyon County Extension Master Gardener Program and enjoy some cookies and drinks infused with herbs
Grow Your Garden Workshop Series Celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States with a horticulture-inspired craft.
Repot Your Plant Bring a plant that needs repotting, along with a new container and potting soil. Extension Master Gardeners will be available to help you repot the plant.
Using Native Plants in the Landscape Get information about incorporating natives into your landscape. Get a free milkweed plant to take home, while supplies last.
Kids Activity Bring the kids for a horticulture-inspired activity.
